    Many of familiar with the Tarot as a classic divination method, but it's also an array of archetypal ideas and a key to universal wisdom. In this class, back by popular demand, we'll dive into the origins of the Tarot, learn the methodology, and explore the mystery of the cards, while learning to read them. In this class, you'll come away with a foundational understanding of the card meanings and order, and the ability to read a number of spreads. A traditional 78 card deck with the four suits of wands, cups, swords and pentacles/disks is required. Registered attendees will receive a 10% discount on any of the decks we carry in the shop. We have a number of traditional decks that are perfect for this class. Space is very limited, and pre-registration is required. Hope you can join us! Instructor: Ami Lahoff is the owner of STAR + SPLENDOR, and offers professional Tarot readings at the shop. As a student of the hermetic arts for over 25 years, Ami has a deep background in the Western Esoteric Tradition. Her study and practice includes, yoga and the Tantric tradition, Kabbalah, alchemy, Tarot and ceremonial magick. She is well-versed in many traditions, however, and holds the belief that ones spiritual practice can be an important part of their self care. She enjoys finding common ground with others and cheering them on along their own individual paths to truth and beauty.

    Join Ami for an introduction to the classic method of divination – the Tarot!

    In this 2 hour class, we’ll explore their history, learn the methodology behind the cards, and begin to work with them. You will need a classic Tarot deck with 78 cards (22 Trumps, 58 minors) and the traditional suits of wands, cups, swords, and pentacles/disks.  If you’re not sure that your deck will work, get in touch with Ami to confirm by emailing shop@starandsplendor.com.

    You’ll start doing readings in the class, and you’ll take come some great spreads to get you started reading for others.

    All registrants to the class get a 15% discount on tarot decks in the shop.

    Hone your Tarot skills and explore new topics with experts at the Witch City Tarot Gathering, July 23-25 on Zoom! The annual Salem, MA festival is being hosted online this year, and weekend passes are available, as well as individual class tickets. Learn more here! Ami will be presenting on Alchemy & Healing through the Tarot at 5pm on Saturday, July 24. Alchemy is a process of transmutation, healing and spiritual expansion. This living tradition, known to the alchemists as "the Great Work," can be approached as a psycho-spiritual journey. The Tarot maps and depicts the alchemical process beautifully in it’s rich images. In this presentation, we’ll look at the symbolism and significance of alchemy in the Tarot to gain insight into where we and our clients might be in that process.     Join Ami for a bi-weekly, in-depth exploration of the Tarot. We will discuss and work with each of the Trumps first, and then move through the court cards and the pips. We will approach each card from an historic and hermetic perspective and allow the meaning and doctrine of each to blossom and guide us in our future readings. Each group session will have components of an spoken teaching, examination of the art, a meditation or "active imagination" session, and discussion. This is a great group for both those who have been reading Tarot for a while and want to deepen their practice, and those who are new to Tarot and want to start from a strong foundation. This is an equally wonderful group for those interested in the archetypes, hermeticism and the Western Esoteric Tradition, as the Tarot will be explored as a key to this wisdom. $10 fee.
