The course will include short lectures and activities. Participants will learn about and experience different styles of spirit art\, including automatic drawing\, auragraphs\, and spirit portraits. Students will both create the images and interpret them for the sitter. Interpreting color and symbols is essential because images are both symbolic and abstract. Art can communicate many spiritual messages. Both mediumistic and psychic skills are utilized depending on the art. \nThe course will explain the different levels of mediumship skills that accompany different styles of art. Art supplies will be provided\, but participants are encouraged to bring their own personal art tools. Discussion is highly encouraged. Art experience is not necessary because Spirit will help in the creative process. This course is designed for novice and experienced artists\, psychics\, and mediums. \nDr. Susan B. Barnes originally received a degree in art from the Pratt Institute and became a professional graphic designer in New York City. She later studied at New York University and obtained her PhD in the Media Ecology Department. As a communication professor\, she taught at several universities\, including the Rochester Institute of Technology and Fordham University. She is the author of nine books on the topics of internet relationships and visual communication. In 2019 she wrote her first mediumship book called: Unfolding Physical Mediumship. \nHer mediumship studies began when she moved to Rochester\, the birthplace of Spiritualism. She studied at the Arthur Findlay College and later became a certificate holder from the Spiritualist National Union (SNU). Her background in art led her to become a spirit artist and collect the works of others. She opened the Spirit Art Gallery in Cassadaga\, New York\, to run classes and display spirit-inspired creative images.
